Longrich distributors learned to make the Korean traditional dish Kimchi
On 12th October 2014, near a thousand Longrich members visited the Nami Island in Chuncheon city as to learn how to make Kimchi, a Korean traditional fermented cabbage dish.
Officials from the South Korean Tourism Organization, department of global affairs of Gangwon-do government and Nami Island also attended the activity.
Nami Island, as the place where many famous TV series such as Winter Sonata is filmed, has a unique and picturesque view with exuberant chestnut trees and white poplars around the island.
The venue where Kimchi lesson was given was located in an open air space of the island. Well equipped with orange apron, chef hat and plastic gloves, all the attendee began to make Kimchi in the group of eight or ten like professional cooks.
Being a Korean traditional fermented food made of spices, fresh vegetables and salting seafood, the Kimchi is considered as an important Korean side dish that can match almost any dishes. Following instructions of professional teachers, all Longrich members present at the event learned how to cook Kimchi. all were very excited and everyone couldn't wait to taste it self-made Kimchi. All the dishes made that day by Longrich distributors were donated to the Chuncheon municipal nursing home.
Mr. Xu Qinyuan, the head of the department of global affairs of Gangwon-do government said in his speech that the activity of Kimchi making enabled Chinese people to know how to make the traditional Korean dish and to thus know more about Korea, in the meantime, they also shared the pleasure Longrich visitors have acquired from the activity and it was good opportunity for them to have better knowledge of China.
